#9 Grubcast – Trash-O-Rama

#9 Grubcast – Trash-O-Rama by Mindgrubaudio on Mixcloud

Trash-O-Rama are a Manchester based DJ couple who have been around on the scene in various guises since 2007, where they started out throwing trashy DIY rockabilly parties at Night and Day Café. Starting out promoting band nights they didn’t progress to DJing properly until about 2011/12 when the band nights took a back seat and they focussed more on playing clubs and bars and putting together mixes and mixtapes on Soundcloud.
They have DJ’d most bars and clubs in the city, have held residencies at Manc queer clubbing institutions Homoelectric and Bollox, won a CityLife alternative club of the year award (2011), hosted stages and DJ’d afterparties at Sounds From The Other City festival and played and partied at many other events in mucky basements all across the city. The pair are currently taking it sleazy with a residency at Manchesters Cord Bar in the Northern Quarter on the 2nd Friday every month and an also be found hosting the middle floor at Homoelectric when their parties are held at FAC251.

The pair have a no particular style or genres policy so expect to find a pick n mix of disco, funk, soul, pop, re-edits, mashups, electro, electronic bleeps, chug, house, techno and more on their Soundcloud and in their live sets – mixed well, mixed badly and sometimes not mixed at all. They focus on enjoying the music they play and selecting tracks they love rather than sticking to one genre or BPM range, which adds to the Trash aesthetic!
